“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.’” — Mark 10:27

Without seeking God, we limit our potential.

Usually when I’m not seeking God, what I’m trying to accomplish is very small and I’m trying to do it of my own accord. When I’m not seeking God, I’m not reaching far enough; I’m not reaching my full potential. It’s not until I get to the point where I want to accomplish something great that I realize my true need for God. I finally recognize God’s power as the only way great things will result.

Whether I’m trying to help someone or change something in my own life, it hits me: I can’t do this on my own. I’ve been put here in this situation to accomplish something, but I can’t do it by my own power. Not knowing how I could get this done, I continually seek guidance, wisdom and direction from God.

When you find yourself in that place — knowing you’re in the right room to get something done, but unable to do it yourself — you reach out to find God, only to find He’s already right there with you. He’s waiting to jump out in front of you to conquer your dream.

I have often realized that when my dreams are small, I’m not drawing as close to the Lord as I should; I feel like I might stray. I’m trying to do things on my own and what I’m trying to reach is only the low hanging fruit. I’m not really walking in my true purpose.

But when I try to do something for the Kingdom, I realize I’m not equipped to do this on my own. That’s when I learn to truly reach out to the Lord and trust His power to do the impossible.

“Ah, Sovereign Lord, You have made the Heavens and the Earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.” — Jeremiah 32:17
