Increase Week in Review 8/1-8/5

Want to catch up on the latest articles by the pro’s from the past week? Here’s what they had to say:

Monday we heard PAO’s Director of Baseball Ministry, Eddie Taubensee, ask the question, “Who’s Building Your House?”:

“What is your life and household built upon? Everyone’s life is built upon some kind of foundation that guides us. If that foundation isn’t the cornerstone of Christ, it will fail us.”

Tuesday Baltimore Orioles’ Chris Davis shared how he lives An Uncommon Life:

“Baseball, for me, is a platform from which to share my faith in Jesus Christ; it’s a way for me to serve Him with all He’s created me to be. But it’s a daily battle for me to maintain both the mindset and desire to be a humble servant.”

Wednesday Cincinnati Bengals’ chaplain asked the question, “Why Do We Worry?”

“In my own life, it was hard to rely on God and believe that He had my back. But as I began to place my trust fully in Him, I was able to let go of my pride and my fear. Instead of pursuing my own accomplishments, I was able to pursue Christ glorified. It didn’t matter what my background was or what statistics said, because I began to see the truth and power of Jesus’ words when He said, ‘Not my will, but Yours be done.’ (Luke 22:42)”

Thursday professional baseball pitcher Mark Appel told us how he handles unexpected challenges and where he puts his hope:

“I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel once I made the decision to end my season, but leading up to the surgery I had an overwhelming sense of peace. I knew that this situation was out of my control, and although I was disappointed to miss the rest of this season with my team, I knew that God is in control.”

Friday we heard from NFL’s Tyler Clutts who shared how significant Christian accountability is in his life:

“I have created bonds with other men who go through the same struggles and challenges as I do and this has resulted in having relationships that are really strong. When God is the glue in these relationships, there’s nothing that can break that apart.”
