Increase Week in Review 9/26-9/30

Want to catch up on the latest articles by the pro’s from the past week? Here’s what they had to say:

Monday we watched former NFL wide receiver André Davis share his struggle at the beginning of his career and how that brought him to live every day as if it was his last:

“I was newly married and often not with my wife—living in hotel rooms on the road. I wasn’t gelling with other guys on my team and I didn’t yet understand the playbook. I found myself depressed. I didn’t like the situation I was in, football wasn’t fun for me anymore, and I didn’t feel like I had much value to my team.”

Tuesday St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright shared how he’s been changing things up as the season comes to a pivotal point:

“I try not to be superstitious but this is baseball. The simple acts of pulling your pants up higher, putting on different socks, wearing your jersey a different way, or shaving your beard off can change your mojo and add the positive vibe to your psyche that you need.”

Wednesday pitcher Mark Appel shared about memories that make baseball worth every moment:

“Growing up in Houston I often went to Astros games with my family. I fell in love with the sport at a young age. I loved running around with friends on the field, I loved getting a run and rounding the bases, I loved meeting new friends each season, some of whom are friends for life. My love for this game has only grown since.”

Thursday Cincinnati Bengals Chaplain LaMorris Crawford shared how he hears the Voice of the Father:

“My son knows my voice because I spend time with him, I talk with him everyday—we’ve gotten to know each other so well that he cannot mistake my voice for anyone else’s. The same is true of us as we commune with God through His Word and prayer.”

Friday Former Major League pitcher Scott Linebrink answered our 5 Increase Questions:

“It’s extremely important to make sure that you live out what you say. I want to make sure that my faith is not just empty talk, but that I’m actually living out the faith that I have in Jesus Christ—this affects every aspect of my life. I think we can all agree on what glorifies God, but are we really doing it? Are we living it out? That’s what I try to ask myself as I live out my faith.”
