Kathie Lee shares words of tribute (in the video linked here) to husband Frank, who passed away a couple of weeks ago. Frank was a towering figure in the NFL and later in football broadcasting, but not many were aware until Kathie Lee shared it that he was a man of strong faith.
Click the link above to hear it in her own words, but we love this little story: As graduation gifts, Frank and Kathie Lee Gifford gave each of their kids a stone. Not a precious or even semi-precious stone as we would normally think about it. Just a plain old stone, albeit one brought back from the Holy Land when the Giffords visited there some time ago. Inspired by the story of David slaying the giant Goliath, Frank and Kathie Lee encouraged their kids to find out what their “stone” would be and throw it as hard as they could to make a positive impact on this hurting world. That’s what living in The Increase looks like.
Frank’s on-air colleague Don Meredith famously often sang, “Turn out the lights, the party’s over,” but we know that the party’s just getting started in the Kingdom whenever one of His comes home. We’ll miss you, Frank. Peace be with the Gifford family.
