Former MLB player Lance Berkman always enjoyed playing alongside his “country-as-a-stump” teammate Roy Oswalt. When Lance observed an interaction that Roy had with a fan one day, he discovered a truth about his personal relationship with God.
“Here’s a guy who comes to the ballgame,” Lance explains, “and he probably knows all there is to know about Roy—all of his stats, his ERA, his win-loss records . . . he even claimed to be related to him, but Roy had no clue who he was. That’s where I was at with God. I had a lot of head knowledge of the Bible but not a lot of heart knowledge of God on a personal level.”
