The Increase Week in Review: 7/10-7/16

Want to catch up on the latest articles by the pro’s from the past week? Here’s what they had to say:

Monday we found out how former MLB player, Lance Berkman answered our 5 Increase Questions:

Being a Christian is not something you do, it’s who you are. My faith in Jesus Christ colors everything I do, there’s no area of my life that it doesn’t affect. From what I say, to how I act, to how I think, everything changed when I placed my faith in Jesus Christ. He has given me a new lens in which to view the world.”

Tuesday Former NFL quarterback and President of Pro Athletes Outreach, Steve Stenstrom shared how the Gospel was Globally Transformed for him and his family in Africa:

“Going to a new country allowed us to know who our neighbors are, from a global standpoint, more than we ever did before. Now when I think about the global Gospel, I’m not thinking about the person that I see in pictures on the Internet who is living in poverty, I’m thinking of little Mary who was five years old and living in rags who I was able to meet, see, and love on.”

Wednesday pitcher Mark Appel told us how he discovered what true Christlike leadership looks like:

“The amazing community of Christians that God has put around me consistently show this example of Christ-like service. Members in my church family are always looking for ways to bless others by giving their time, energy, and resources to pour into those around them. Most people in our world don’t do that. Living life with these Christians, I have experienced so much love and grace through their intentional love for Christ and for others…. This is what I want to be all about.”

Thursday we heard the life and testimony of Cardinals pitcher Jaime Garcia:

“I remember going back to my hotel and I completely broke down. At 18 years old, I was a nobody if I didn’t have baseball.”

Friday Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright shared his passion for using the platform of baseball to reach the world with the Gospel:

“By finding ways to reach out and use this platform of baseball to share the Gospel in real and practical ways with people around the world, I have really learned that it is so much greater to give than to receive.”
